OUR HISTORY

 

 

St. Paul Baptist Church was started in 1896 in the Forest, VA area in the community called "Everettstown".  The first church was not a stately building but merely a bush arbor.  Later a group of Christian leaders from the Forest Level and Piney Grove Baptist churches saw is befitting to organize the first church which started in a cabin called "Jessie Carter's Cabin".  The first church was built in 1906.  During the early 1940's a new church was erected and still stands on St. Paul Circle.  The congregation was inspired and led by Goc to build the present church structure in 2002.  Over the years the church and its leaders have had many changes.  We remain a strong people of faith where God is our head.
